Dwennimmen- Chair of Return

Furniture Design Competition

Dwennimmen

1. Rest After a Long Journey

Like the curved horns spiraling inward, the chair is conceived as the place I return after moving through the world.

When I wake up, it grounds me.

When I come home exhausted, it receives my weight and restores my energy.

2. Taking Action

The same Dwennimmen curve that invites rest also symbolizes rising energy.

This is the seat where I shift from rest into work; the hinge between stillness and action.

3. Wisdom + Creativity

“It’s when I sit down that I get ideas and creativity.”

The chair becomes a vessel for guidance, clarity, and insight; the spiral of the ram’s horn becomes a metaphor for thoughts unfolding, deepening, and expanding.

4. Spiritual Growth

As a Christian, the chair becomes my quiet altar.

It is where I read, pray, listen, and learn.

This chair becomes the physical translation of that symbol, merging rest, reflection, and renewal into one object

Dwennimmen, the ram’s horns, expresses a duality: strength and humility; power held in balance with gentleness.

This chair becomes the physical translation of that symbol, merging rest, reflection, and renewal into one object
